These commissioned portraits were completed
between 1989 and 1992. Rendered in mixed media, using gouache as a base,
then adding many layers — as many as thirty-six — of color pencil
and pastel, they have great visual depth and color. The portraits are
approximately 3 to 4 feet on their longest side.
Medium
Format
After a twelve-year hiatus, I have returned to drawing portraits.
These are drawn in a palette of earth tones, and with the limited
palette and smaller size (approx. 10" X 14"), I am trying to
capture a more immediate and intimate feeling in the pictures.
Specific
features of the portraits:
• Drawn on archival quality, 100% cotton rag paper.
• The drawings are approximately 10 X 14 inches.
•
The price for each subject is $475.00, which includes an archival quality
mat folder.
• I can provide custom framing (of my specification) for an additional
$75.00.
